Beefing Up Security Within Your Vacation Home

By Randle F Hauck

My family always wanted having a vacation house much like everybody else. The difficult part to owning one, though, is that it is left empty most of the time. When we eventually made a purchase, we knew we had to find ways to enhance the security within the premises.

We obtained the HomeSafe wireless home security system mainly because we sensed that it will be very easy to set up and simple to use. If anybody attempts to get into the house, this tool would alert us to that even when we're not around.

Our purchase was made up of a base unit, an AC adaptor, a window/door sensor with a wireless transmission range of 250 feet, a motion detector with a range of 8 yards, and a remote control with panic feature to activate as well as deactivate the included alarm.

This kind of wireless security system is going to sound an alarm whenever a door or window being protected is opened up. At the same time, a motion detector is triggered, upon which it will send a signal to the base unit to get in touch with the first preset telephone number on your list.

Around 5 pre-programmed telephone numbers can be dialed one by one to inform these numbers' owners of activity within your home. The individual who answers will hear an alert message which is pre-recorded.

That person will get the opportunity to listen in on any motion inside the room, broadcast a message via the base unit, or turn off the system. If nobody answers the first dialed number, or if the person who does opts not to disarm the system, then it will carry on to contact the other listed phone numbers.

The way that the system works is perfect for us because we won't be around to watch our property often. But if an intruder breaks in, we will be informed. For the setup to work like it should, a landline with tone dialing is needed.

Owning a wireless home security system installed in our rest house is such a relief. Not just is our second home protected, we know also that we are safe whenever we go for a visit.
